SLIDING SCALE POLICY AND HOW TO USE IT |
I recognize that we live within capitalism and we must earn income to live, so I have had to decide what my rates will be. I also recognize that capitalism is violent and destructive, causing massive deficit for many people, most crucially along racial lines. It's influences make it difficult for some folks to access health services which is why I keep my rates low and offer room for movement. Because capitalism is the root of the wealth disparity in this country, the scale is largely for my Black, Indigenous, and non Black/Indigenous POC clients. If you benefit from white privilege and my regular rate is cost prohibitive, contact me pre-session.
For my Indigenous, Black, and non Black POC friends and clients: Please let me know what your budget is when booking and we can work to find a comfortable rate. I have some no-cost, 45min appointments available per month, inquire before our session if you are interested. I view this as one way I can contribute to reparative justice. Read below if you need help decided where you fall on the scale.
If you are a friend and client who benefits from white privilege: Let me know what your budget is. I have limited low cost appointments so please ask before our session for availability. Read below if you would like help deciding if the sliding scale is for you!

Consider paying less if you:
• have immigration-related expenses and/or are undocumented • are an elder with limited financial support • are a returning citizen who has been denied work due to incarceration history • are descended from enslaved people • are Native American/indigenous to this continent • engage in illegal forms of work • are a person who experiences racism directed at you • are eligible for public assistance |
Consider paying more if you:
• own the home you live in • have investments, retirement accounts, or inherited money • travel recreationally • have access to family money and resources in times of need • work part time by choice • have a relatively high degree of earning power due to level of education, gender privilege, racial privilege, class background, etc. Even if you are not currently exercising your earning power, I ask you to recognize this as a choice. |
