I strive for maximum comfort and peace of mind for all people in my practice. I understand that this world does not make room for those of us with bodies that don't fit into the realm of what is designated as 'typical', and I find it important to communicate that I will make that room for all of us in our sessions. If you are a person who uses electronic mobility devices, is Deaf or hard of hearing, is blind or partially sighted, needs a translator, or any other circumstances that require/desire specific accommodation, please let me know and we will collaborate on a solution. ***I try to make my home as accessible as possible, though I understand there are still some barriers in the arrangement of my space. I am unable to accept any more clients for in-your-home services, though I may be able to point you to other trusted colleagues that do.***
I will send you the exact address after we confirm our appointment. Trolley #13 stops 0.2 miles from the location at the Chester and Yeadon Ave stop.
There are five steps leading up to the front door, and fourteen steps to the second floor where the treatment room is. My bathroom is medium sized, let me know if you want to see pictures.
The space is low scent, though not scent free. No incense or candles are used in the treatment room. I use unscented laundry detergent on all linens, my cleaning spray sometimes has essential oils in it. Please let me know if you have MCS or sensitivity to scent.
I play chill music, sometimes use fans or white noise machines, these can be changed or turned off.
The space is well lit, and pathways are clear. Please let me know if you have needs around lighting.
My chihuahua, Dearly Beloved, will likely be in the space. She offers grounding of her own, a kind of therapy for my clients, and is very sweet and friendly. Please let me know about pet allergies, fears, or if you are planning to bring your service animal.
All furniture in the treatment room is chosen with my fat community in mind. The massage table is 31 inches wide, 74 inches long, and carries 750+ pounds. I have extenders that widen the table by 5 inches on either side (41 inches across total), bolsters to support various body areas, and have a variety of sizes of blankets and sheets. If this table won't work for you, let me know, I have other options available.
I use unscented sunflower seed oil, grapeseed oil, sometimes herb infused olive oil, and have other oil options available.

Policies
ARRIVAL TO YOUR MASSAGE: New first time clients are asked to arrive 10 minutes early to become oriented to the space and to provide time to do a more in depth verbal intake. Established clients should arrive 5 minutes before their scheduled time. All massages have a specific time schedule and early arrival allows for a relaxed and unhurried experience. If late arrival is inevitable, your service may be shortened in order to keep on schedule and the original treatment time will be charged.
CANCELLATION POLICY: Please provide at least a 24 hour notice if you need to reschedule or cancel a treatment. This gives me enough time to fill the slot. I send a reminder email 1 day prior to your scheduled appointment, please respond to it so that I know you are coming. Cancelling within 24 hours will incur a fee of 50% of the session rate, unless you are sick in any way. Please try and give me as much notice as you can!
NO SHOW POLICY: Clients who do not show without cancelling are still responsible for payment.
TIPPING: No tipping is necessary, my prices include gratuity.
TREATING MINORS: I am prepared and excited to work with people under the age of 18! If the child is younger than 18 years old, I will ask for a signature from the parent or guardian OR ask that they sit in on the treatment.
PRIVACY POLICY: Your massage therapy records are kept in the strictest confidence by this clinic. All client records are kept in a secure place and are not shown to anyone. Your records will not be released to third parties, including health care providers and insurance companies without your written consent. Records may be surrendered if required by law. CONDUCT: Inappropriate behavior will not be tolerated. Suggestive comments, sexual innuendos, touching of the massage therapist in an inappropriate way, will result in the termination of the massage session and the client will not be allowed to return for further massages. The full fee will be expected.
COVID-19: These are the harm reduction practices I use for in-person bodywork session in order to mitigate our risks of transmitting COVID-19 (and other infections diseases) to or from each other.
-Vaccination plus booster, which greatly reduces the transmission rate between us -Routinely testing myself and encouraging clients to do the same -Sanitize every touchable surface and change sheets between clients -Wash my hands regularly -There is an air purifier in the space turning the air over -Wear a KN95 or double mask for each session, require mask wearing for clients -Schedule space in between clients for the air to turn over -Attempt to perform much of the session face down -I use a space that others are in infrequently to reduce transmission -Provide hand sanitizer, soap, paper towels for myself and clients
I don't require proof of vax or negative test, though if you can test before our session, PLEASE do. I require all clients to wear a mask 100% of the time, and to wash hands as often as possible. Please reschedule your appointment if you feel at all under the weather, it is no problem. This is important not just because of COVID-19 transmission, but because massage is a stress to the body and we don't want to add more pressure to your immune system if it's already working to fight off an illness.
I use information and protocols outlined by my professional organizations (hereand here) the CDC (here).
I encourage you to test yourself regularly. If you test positive for Covid-19 within two weeks after our session, please let me know so I can responsibly contact trace.
